Hey, it's costume with your daily Google News.
Kasim:And I'm excited about today, sort of joining me is.
Kasim:Traitor to solutions.
Kasim:Eight.
Kasim:I'm just kidding.
Kasim:Collin Sch Beck.
Kasim:How are you buddy?
Kasim:Good.
Kasim:How are you doing, sir?
Kasim:Good.
Kasim:I'm gonna tell our story and then you're gonna tell people how, right?
Kasim:I got it.
Kasim:Collin came and worked at Solutions Eight and when I was hiring you, you're
Kasim:like, dude, I wanna start my own agency.
Kasim:So you're super like upfront and transparent.
Kasim:Which I really appreciated.
Kasim:And I was like, all right, well come work with me until then.
Kasim:And you did.
Kasim:so you've been a client manager solutions eight.
Kasim:You've seen the inside, all the dirt, like all the things that
Kasim:we suck at, and the things that we're actually good at are not.
Kasim:And then you spun off your own agency and you left the right
Kasim:way, and we're on good terms.
Kasim:And now you're on my YouTube channel.
Kasim:Yes, sir.
Kasim:Yeah.
Kasim:you went, will I win what?
Kasim:January?
Kasim:November.
Kasim:Yeah, I was with you for I think 14 months.
Kasim:Yeah, same thing.
Kasim:What do you wish you knew in October before you went and
Kasim:made whatever mistakes you made?
Kasim:Patience to learn.
Kasim:I think that's the main thing.
Kasim:I think everyone wants to find a course and stuff, and courses are really good.
Kasim:Your course is fantastic.
Kasim:I know there's a Udemy course as well.
Kasim:that, once you know the basics of Google ads, you need to
Kasim:kind of get your feet wet.
Kasim:I think that's the best thing working for you was being Google Ads a hundred
Kasim:percent of the time every day of the week.
Kasim:I think that's the only way to really grow and then start strategizing yourself,
Kasim:like thinking, Hey, what if I do this?
Kasim:What happens if I do that?
Kasim:What happens?
Kasim:Test it.
Kasim:the only really way you can do that is either by working for someone,
Kasim:doing that or doing it for yourself.
Kasim:But that would be my number one tip is kind of your feet dirty.
Kasim:Your hands dirty with Google ads.
Kasim:You gotta do the work.
Kasim:Yeah.
Kasim:I've told people go find someone like a, friendly entrepreneur
Kasim:and, and do their ads for free.
Kasim:Yeah.
Kasim:You know, it's like, oh, my grandma has a Italian restaurant or whatever.
Kasim:Be like, Hey grandma, I wanna learn Google ads.
Kasim:Can I waste some of your money for you?
Kasim:Because without it, the perpetual student.
Kasim:They're at such a disadvantage.
Kasim:And I see those folks, I saw 'em in my coaching cohort.
Kasim:Hopefully nobody watches this.
Kasim:they're ravenous for education, but they never actually thrust any buttons.
Kasim:And I'm like, just go, you wanna like push 'em outta the nest like a baby bird.
Kasim:Yeah.
Kasim:So I think that's, really good advice.
Kasim:Where do you find clients, brand new agency you just started, what do you do?
Kasim:I mean, what I did, I went to Upwork before I worked for you actually
Kasim:had a couple clients through Upwork.
Kasim:That's a very demoralizing place to go to.
Kasim:I think though, if you have nothing to stand out on honestly, if I was giving
Kasim:advice, I would say go to a platform.
Kasim:You're confident and happy to publish stuff on a daily basis with no return for
Kasim:a very long time, and just publish value that it doesn't have to be very advanced.
Kasim:Could be just to a past version of yourself.
Kasim:That someone, if you're in a month from now, you're here, well then who speak
Kasim:to the person you were a month ago?
Kasim:Because people are like you trying to learn.
Kasim:And I think that's the best way.
Kasim:And once you have some client results, show what you've done, show how you did
Kasim:it, give away everything for free because not everyone's gonna get the information
Kasim:and do it themselves cause they don't have you to have the time or they don't care to
Kasim:do it, or they want to just pay you to do it cuz they're confident in your results.
Kasim:So that's what I would suggest is give away value for free and
Kasim:be consistent and show up daily.
Kasim:So that give away everything for free.
Kasim:I've made my bones on that.
Kasim:Cause I have people ask me all the time, like, why do you tell
Kasim:people that on the YouTube channel?
Kasim:And I'm like, first anybody who's gonna hire me is just gonna like,
Kasim:it's not gonna be like, oh, now I don't have to hire those guys.
Kasim:Now they're just like, oh, thank God you know this.
Kasim:And then the people that aren't gonna hire me, like what a carmack shot in the arm,
Kasim:we've hired off of YouTube, strategic partnerships come through our channels.
Kasim:Yeah.
Kasim:So I, love that advice.
Kasim:And you also said something, I think that is a big value bomb,
Kasim:which was how did you phrase it?
Kasim:Start with where you are is how did that, was that, I guess on, the money
Kasim:Twitter side, it's, everything is building in public like a lot of SaaS
Kasim:people are there who are building their platform in public, saying there's, you
Kasim:know, just sharing insights and losses.
Kasim:I think the main thing for yourself if you're trying to become an agency
Kasim:or a freelancer is talk about what you're learning and then, a month or
Kasim:a year from now, share information that someone a passive version of
Kasim:yourself would actually find valuable.
Kasim:Cause that's the best way to speak to someone.
Kasim:Cause you that you were that person.
Kasim:I have a hard time with it.
Kasim:I, you know, for the YouTube channel, I always wanna come up with like the
Kasim:most ninja, wicked, and I, to get desperate because in my mind that's
Kasim:sort of the bar that we've set.
Kasim:And now I want more of that.
Kasim:And what's funny about it is then we'll post like a, How to set up
Kasim:conversion track and you're like one of the like rudimentary basic videos
Kasim:and that's the one that takes off.
Kasim:And people are like, oh my God, thank you so much.
Kasim:And I realized, that I'm actually pricing myself out of the market
Kasim:when I go altern into sometimes you actually need to go to the basics
Kasim:and that's where the audience is.
Kasim:Yeah, I mean, that's the biggest audience you can serve is the, the
Kasim:beginners, which, no, it's not the best audience to pitch for clients,
Kasim:but people will come through that for clients or be, will become a client
Kasim:a year from now if they trust and have loved the stuff that you have.
Kasim:Yeah.
Kasim:You've niche down, you do e-commerce SaaS, correct?
Kasim:Yeah.
Kasim:That's a brilliant niche cuz you don't have to deal with, Trying to
Kasim:police the end result, you know?
Kasim:Was the lead good?
Kasim:Was it not like, it's horrible.
Kasim:Learned that from working for you.
